Memorial service update ....
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jenny May on Sunday 9th July . Both her sons were with her, holding her hands at the end.
Jen will be fondly remembered for the great contribution she made to Gloucestershire Ladies Golf, not only as County Junior Organiser but also as Captain in 2005/6 and President in 2014/15. She was also responsible for documenting our history in the book ‘A Celebration… of Ladies Golf in Gloucestershire' , a great tribute to her literary skills for which she was well known.
Our thoughts are with all her family at this sad time. Her sons, John and Joe, have advised that they will be having a private family funeral but there will also be a memorial service to celebrate her life with all her many friends in the Autumn . UPDATE - the service will take place at Minchinhampton Parish Church , Bell Lane , Minchinhampton on 24th September at 12 noon. John & Joe hope that many will be able to come and join them in what they sincerely hope will be a thoroughly sparkly, joyous and 'groovy' event ! Please join us in your county kit if you have it and let’s get a good turnout of the ‘burgundy’ brigade !
In the meantime John and Joe have said that in lieu of flowers, they would be tickled pink (or probably more appropriately burgundy and blue - Gloucestershire Ladies Golf colours!) if you would like to support one of her major passions which was women and girls golf in Gloucestershire by donating to the Just giving page set up in her memory here.
