130 ladies compete in the Kitcat Cup finals at Forest Hills Golf Club....

Above Left - Overall winner - Tracey Ball from The Kendleshire Golf Club - with 41 points

Above Right - Runner-up in Division 2 - Annie Heatherson - The Bristol GC - 39 points

130 ladies travelled to Forest Hills Golf Club to compete in the Kitcat Cup finals, albeit the journey was a little anxious for some, myself included due to a road closure en route where the diversion took you through some extremely narrow lanes. For me the standoff with a Tesco delivery van was particularly challenging as I stood my ground forcing him to do the reversing back up the impassable lane! Fortunately everyone effected made it through and no-one missed their tee times although it was a bit close on a couple of occasions!

The tee times were from 8.30 until 14.30 so understandably the rounds got a rather long as the day went on but the weather was perfect which helped. Local member Sarah Mainprise-Tait however had no such issue as she and her partner went off at 8.30 am and they simply flew round in just under 3 hours and Sarah was leading in the clubhouse for most of the day, also with a great score of 41 points. Despite being pipped to the overall trophy by Tracy Ball  she still won division 1. Thanks go to the green staff for presenting in the course in good condition with fast greens, however the lush condition meant the rough was quite challenging!

Prizes went down to 5th place in both divisions as follows;

Overall Winner (and winner of division 2) - Tracey Ball - The Kendleshire GC - 41 points

Winner of Division 1 - Sarah Mainprise-Tait - Forest Hills GC - 41 Points

Runner-up Division 1 - Jill Wargen - South Herefordshire GC - 37 points

Runner-up Division 2 - Annie Heatherson - The Bristol GC - 39 points

3rd Place Division 1 - Barbara Lewis - The Bristol - 35 points

3rd Place Division 2 - Jennifer Freel - Ross on Wye GC - 39 points

4th Place Division 1 - Jennifer Gladwyn - Ross on Wye GC - 35 points

4th Place Division 2 - Sally Murrant - The Kendleshire GC - 39 points

5th Place Division 1 - Lois Price - Ross on Wye GC - 35 points

5th Place Division 2 - Helen Bradley - The Bristol GC - 38 points

Our thanks go to GM Gavin who was very helpful in the run up to the day and to Jean Hosford, Club Manager for all her help on the day including sorting out the bar and serving us all day. The Ladies Section also came up trumps with the Lady Captain and her team helping with registration and the food orders , all making things run very smoothly. A great job, much appreciated.

WIth Tracy coming in in the last 5 groups we were fortunatley able to do a presentation of the trophy and also to Annie Heatherson from the Bristol GC who also had a great score of 39 points taking the runners-up place in division 2.

A long day but a good one with some great scores. Well done to everyone who took part in the day.
