18 hole Medal Competition open to golfers under the age of 18 on 1 January 2024 and a member of an affiliated club in the South West.

In order to enter this championship an entrant must be in possession of an individual up-to-date Handicap Index® not exceeding 36 under the World Handicapping System™

Entries into the SW Championships, where oversubscribed, shall be subject to review as outlined within the
Championship Entry Policy (General Play Scores - no more than 4 general play scores in their last 20 scores). Online entries can only be processed when using a competitor ID number to verify their HandicapIndex (Membership number or equivalent).

Payment details will be taken and stored at the time of entry and following any ballot, unsuccessful entrants will be refunded their entry fee. Any entry ballot will be based on the exact Handicap Index of the relevant players on the day following the closing date. It is the player’s responsibility to ensure that their Handicap Index on the WHS Platform is up to date. GLCGA shall take no responsibility for any out-of-date Handicap Index calculations used for balloting purposes.

If a player withdraws prior to the closing date their entry will be deleted and their payment will be refunded. In the event of a competitor withdrawing after the closing date the entry fee will not be refunded.

A reserve list will be maintained and managed by GLCGA. Should a place/s in the draw become available, reserves will be invited to play in the HI order they are listed on the reserve list. Entry fee payment will then be processed once a reserve accepts their place in the championship. To ensure a full field for a Championship and at the sole discretion of GLCGA Organisers, a reserve/s may be offered a place depending on whether they can be contacted, i.e., irrespective of their place on the reserve list. At appropriate stroke play Championships, in the event of a late withdrawal of a player in the draw, a reserve who has entered the event and is present at the venue on the day of the Championship may be offered the vacated start place. Should there be more than one reserve in attendance, such reserves will be invited to play in the HI order they are listed on the reserve list.

Entry for this competition is balloted to 63 entries. Online entry does not guarantee a place in the final competition.
