GLOUCESTERSHIRE LADIES' COUNTY GOLF ASSOCIATION VETERANS' SECTION
At the 1965 County AGM, Peggy Reece proposed the formation of the Veterans’ Section.
The qualifying criteria now, is to be aged 60, a member of the County and subscription of £1.00
The Veterans’ Section hold several competitions and matches including inter County ones each year.
All details of the above can be obtained from your Club Veterans’ Representative or the Officers below.
AGM and Accounts
The 2023 AGM was held at Minchinhampton Golf Club on Monday 6th November when all the activities of a successful year were reported on and trophies and prizes presented. There are 900 members. 56 attended the AGM and 28 sent apologies. The annual accounts are reconciled but still to be checked. They will be presented for approval at the Reps meeting in February 2024 .
The Annual sub for 2024 remains at £1. Match meals and green fees are capped at £25 for players and the difference to be paid by the Vets in 2024. The Constitution was updated to include qualifying and non -qualifying competitions.,
The Officers and Committee were re-elected although there was a request for new Members. Pat Righton would stand down as Vets Competition Secretary at the end of 2024 to become County Vice President, so a successor is being sought.
Competitions in 2023 were successfully run online using IG. Carole Greenup, Karen Rix and Jane Rowell were thanked for their support.
Mary Groves thanked the Vets Committee for their work.
