GGG - Competitions 2019

Entry to competitions apart from the Jenny May Day and Pre-handicap Card Marking Competitions should be done ‘Online’ for all competitions (use Online Signup links below).  The Jenny May Day and Pre-handicap Card Marking competitions, will require completion of an entry form (use download links below).  Payment for all competitions will only be taken on the day of the competition during registration. 

To make the season more interesting, we are including a number of Junior Opens into the Order of Merit Awards Table where you can gain additional OOM points if you participate and even more if you are in the top two girl golfers. The nominated Junior Opens are listed below.

GGG Stableford & Card Marking Competition Days - 2019 Series

The GGG Stableford & Card Marking Competition Days comprise a series of 5 events during the 2019 playing season, giving girls an opportunity for regular competition with other girl golfers:

GGG #1: Sunday 14th April, 1300 hrs start Brickhampton Court GC – GL2 9QF
GGG #2: Sunday 19th May, 1300 hrs start The Kendleshire GC – BS36 2UY
GGG #3: Sunday 16th June, 1300 hrs start Bristol & Clifton GC – BS8 3TH
GGG #4: Sunday 28th July, 1300 hrs start Naunton Downs GC – GL54 3AE
GGG #5: Sunday 8th September, 1300 hrs start Cotswold Hills GC – GL53 9QT

Nominated 2019 Junior Opens (for extra OOM points)

Additional OOM points will be awarded to all girls who participate in the following Junior Opens and if any finish in the top two girls, then more points will be awarded!

Handicap Categories and Prizes

On Competition days we will run an 18-hole Stableford for players with handicaps up to 54 and we will also run a 9-hole Card Marking Competition for beginners who don't have a handicap but are ready to start marking cards. There are three categories based on handicap for each Competition Day:

The 18-hole Stableford categories:

A selection of prizes will be awarded to competitors of the 9-hole Card Marking competitions based on results and noteworthy performances.  Love2shop Gift Vouchers will be awarded to winners within the 18-hole Stableford Competition, that can be spent at over 20,000 high street stores. 

Results from the 5 Competition Days will be collated and will form part of the 2019 Series Order of Merit.  Order of Merit trophies and prizes will be presented at the Jenny May Day End of Season Event on 13th October at The Bristol Golf Club. 

How to enter

Entry deadline for each Competition Day is eight days before the event.  The entry fee is £10.50 per player (includes meal) for each Competition Day and is payable on the day.  Please enter as follows depending on which category you are eligible to play in: 

Girls with CONGU handicaps can enter online using their CDH Number by clicking on the Competition Day(s) below that they wish to enter and then clicking Online Signup - if they don't have a CDH yet they can still enter online. 

Girls without Handicaps can enter the beginners 9-hole card marking competitions by emailing janicemsaunders1@gmail.com an entry form for the Competition Day(s) they wish enter.

GGG County Championship - 14th July 2019, 1300 start - Shirehampton Park Golf Club

This is our most prestigious event and is open to girls who were under 18 on 1st January 2019 with a CONGU handicap of 48 or less, who are members of a Golf Club affiliated to Gloucestershire Ladies’ County Golf Association.

Distant Measuring Devices capable of measuring distance only allowed in accordance with Rule 14.3 in the R&A book.

Prizes

There are competitions for the Gross Championship cup, the Nett Championship trophy, and Stableford prizes, so girls of all levels of handicaps have plenty to play for. 

The Under 16 trophy is awarded at the Gloucestershire Girls’ Championship for the best gross score by a girl who was under 16 on 1st January 2019.

Jenny May Day - 13th October 2019, The Bristol Golf Club

This is GGG’s special end of season event for all girl golfers in the county. All girls with or without handicaps are welcome to attend this event. The day starts with the GGG end of season report and prize giving and then follows with a Texas Scramble over 18 holes for handicap girls and a 9 hole Texas Scramble for pre-handicap girls and ends with a meal.

Entry deadline is 6 October 2019.  The entry fee is £10.50 per player and includes a meal and is payable on the day.  Girls can enter by emailing janicemsaunders1@gmail.com an entry form or by registering online here: 0-36 H/C  or  37-54 H/C  

Pre-handicappers should email janicemsaunders1@gmail.com an entry form .
